Introduction

Classifiers is one of the ore beneficiation machines and the commonly used classifiers include spiral separator which can also be called screw classifiers and spiral classifier, rotary separator and density separators.

Spiral separator is mainly used in the metal ore beneficiation process to classify the ores according to their granularity relying on the falling speed of the ore particles in the liquid. Screw classifiers can be divided into high weir single-spiral classifier, high weir double-spiral classifier, immersed type single-spiral classifier and immersed type double-spiral classifier according to the height of the overflow weir.

This classifiers has such features as simple structure, reliable working condition and convenient operation.

Principle

Slantly install the water chute, and the dip angel is determined by configuration of the equipment in the technical production process. Transmission device drives the spiral to rotate inside the chute, and the finely ground ore pulp goes into the chute from the side feeding mouth, and on the bottom of the chute, a pulp precipitation area will be formed, and its superficial area and volume are determined by the dip angle of the chute and the height of the overflow weir. The spiral rotating with low speed can stir the ore pulp, and then light and fine particles will float on top to become overflow and be discharged from the overflow weir on the end edge of the water chute to flow into the next dressing procedure, and coarse and heavy particles will fall to the bottom of the chute to become recirculated sand and will be discharged from the ore discharging mouth of by the spiral.
